Ian Patterson asked:

Do you have problems with kids climbing all over your furniture, scuffing the fabric and scratching the woodwork? It’s not very practical for you if they cannot play and get rid of some of that youthful energy.

Kids are going to run into, play on and climb over just about anything in the room especially when it is wet and cold outside and the neighborhood kids have all decided to converge on your house.

It’s great that your kids are so popular but it can play havoc on your furnishings, not to mention your stress level as they chase each other over the back of the sofa. So how do you stop kids destroying the living room suite? What is the alternative?

Beanbag furniture is the answer. A child’s beanbag chair is a great way to keep the kids off your furnishings. Kids love beanbag chairs because they’re great fun to scramble over when they are full of energy and a child’s beanbag chair is comfortable to flop down on and stretch out when the energy is finally sapped away.

Why not get one for yourself so you can crash out too. I’m sure you will be worn out before they are.

It doesn’t really matter how rough the kids get in their play, beanbag chairs will stand up to anything your kid can throw at it – literally. Beanbag chairs come in denim, cotton drill or with the look of worn leather, which is great for the den but if, you are looking for something to go in your kid’s room, vinyl is probably the better solution.

If you are getting a child’s beanbag chair for their bedroom, you can choose from superheroes, dolls or other fun cartoon characters that will liven up their rooms. Whether it is in their own room or in the den, children will prefer their own beanbag chair.

Some people prefer their a child’s beanbag chair to be filled with polystyrene beads while other parents would prefer the foam filled style which possibly keeps better shape. It really is a matter of personal choice.

The things to look for in a child’s beanbag chair are:

Size: the size of your child and the number of children will be a factor. Get one that is big enough for them to romp and roll on (if they are small kids) or for them to lounge in if they are heading into their teens.

Filling: the filling you choose will be a matter or personal preference. Beans or foam, it doesn’t really matter as they both provide great comfort.

Cleaning: cleaning your child’s beanbag chair should be easy – you may be doing it often. Look for furniture that has a removable cover for easy washing or that can be wiped clean with a soft soapy cloth.

Material: there are so many materials to choose from including faux suede, leather look, denim and vinyl. vinyl will probably be the most child proof but all are designed to last a long time.

Cost: obviously a top priority in everyone’s mind, but don’t necessarily go for the cheapest, make your choice based on the other criteria.

Whichever child’s beanbag chair you choose, it will provide simple, comfortable and affordable seating that will last for years.

Bean Bag Chairs

A new style of furniture has invaded the living room, playrooms and other places where people want to be cozy. Presenting altogether different style aims at providing comfort and ease to the tired and aching body. The now manufactured beanbag chair is way apart from the beanbag chairs, manufactured in 1960s. Now the new styles of foam chairs or beanbag chairs are sold under the brand names LoveSac, Foof Chair, Comfy Sack.

The new generation of beanbag furniture comes with wide range of sizes and options. They can be comfortably used in the game room where children can sit and watch videos; it can replace your couch in the living room and can provide a comfy place to nuzzle for your sick child. The beanbag chair provides you the ultimate feeling of relaxation and life seem impossible without it.

The beanbag chair can be placed almost anywhere in the house by the pool, in the bedroom, or in the lounge and can be used by children, middle-aged people, elderly or even pregnant woman and accordingly the size can be chosen. For children the beanbag should be made of strong fabrics and dark colors and the children are rough with most of their things and spill whatever they eat. The beanbag chair would be an overwhelming gift for a pregnant woman and can relieve her from back pain. The soft and gentle shape of the chairs moulds to the shape of the person who sits.

While buying beanbag chairs you can choose from the different colors set out befitting your home décor. Bright and vibrant colors are best for the modern apartment whereas the people with individual small houses should opt for soft and warmer colors. They will give an elegant and stylish look to your house. You will never repent for the price you pay for these chairs as the beads mould to your back and support you where you need it most. To get more support for your body fill in the beanbag with excess of beans.

Apart from these issues you need to consider the safety issues related with this furniture. Find out whether it is sun resistant or water resistant and protect it accordingly. Take proper care of your beanbag chair and it will continue giving comfort to your body. The cleaning is also simple; the covers can be removed and washed in washing machine. The liner available will not allow the beans to spill when the outer cover is removed for cleaning. Regularly used beanbag chairs can be wiped with a cloth dipped in warm water like the one made from durable fabrics PVC or Vinyl.

The beans used in the beanbag chairs are nothing but expanded, polystyrene pieces and are good conductors of heat. So it is advisable to keep these chairs away from fireplaces and heaters.

Monday, August 24th, 2009
Pat the Bat Burrell asked:

My cat has relieved himself a questionable amount of times on my beanbag chair, i haven’t had it quite a year yet and i don’t want to throw it away because it cost me 70-80 bucks and i know that u can’t it in the washer. Can Anyone please help?
i just want it cleaned to the point where i can sit on it not worried about sitting in cat urine. i keep my door closed to my room anyway and i could probably always just stick it in my closet when im not using it.

Pattrick Jhonson asked:

Ever wondered how much harm conventional chairs are doing to your back? Each time you sit in a chair which does not follow the normal curve of your back, you stress out your back bone and spine. The result include short term problems like headaches, migraines, joint aches; and long term problems like spondilytis, problems of the joints and back, and general discomfort.

In the 21st century as more and more people are dependent on the service sector, directly or indirectly, for their livelihood, it is essential that more and more attention be paid to must be paid to proper health and ergonomics. The jobs, today, generally require a person to sit in one place for a lengthy period and work on a computer. The staid lifestyle followed by most of us may accrue serious side effects at an older age, warn doctors. Diseases of the bones, joints and back – which didn’t seem to affect below the age of 40, in the past decade, are now a raging reason for health complaints and discomfort. Simple changes in our lifestyle, suggest doctors, can accrue long term benefits for all of us.

If you have decided to give yourself a break from the tortures your chair imposes on you, why not try a beanbag. Beanbags are a rage these days with the young and the old, because they provide comfortable seating for one or even more than one person, are available in various color schemes and various sizes, and are very easy to procure. With a bean bag what you have, is an oversized leather or vinyl bag which is filled with small, soft pellets, made of Poly Vinyl Chloride or Thermocol. When you dump yourself on a beanbag, it simply moulds itself according to your body, instead of resisting it.

People have sometimes pointed out that beanbags do not stay comfortable for an extended period, especially when the pellets inside the bag get crushed; and thus bean bags aren’t a correct alternative to chairs. Nothing could be further from truth. Bean bags generally last for 3-6 months, after which you don’t have to throw them out. Just visit the nearest supplies store and buy yourself a new pack of bean bag pellets – refill your bag and voila! Your bag is as good as new. Moreover, if you find this refilling process very arduous, then simply pay a bit more to get a foof sac, a bean bag which is filled with the soft urethane foam which is used in couches. The foam lasts for a longer time and yet gives you all the benefits which accompany a bean bag.

The biggest advantage of the bean bag is that it is malleable to the use you put it to. Whether its used to sit on and play video games, or to cuddle up to your better half while watching a television show, or providing your child’s room with a seating arrangement or bedding, bean bags have a diverse and varied set of uses.
